I recently attended an iPad/iPad2 Training. I am fascinated about all the cool apps that are out there. So many of the apps are free also. I learned how to do so much more with my iPad. I am excited about sharing my finding at our trainings in August!

eInstruction Clickers

These small "clickers" can make any class interactive in a few minutes. This was one of my favorite pieces of technology when I was in the classroom. The clickers are a student response system. Each student gets a clicker that they use to answer questions from the teacher. The teacher can either ask questions on the "fly" verbally or type questions in the eInstruction software. We have two sets of clickers for teachers to check out.

I am excited that Mimio has released the update for Mac users. I went to Mimio Connect and signed up for online training. I complete three trainings and they were all great. I hope more teachers use Mimio Notebook to make or present lessons.

iPods

I am excited to see the district iPods being checked out. This month alone, the check out has doubled. There are so many cool educational podcasts out there. They also make great recording and listening devices for students.

Mimio Equipment

I am so excited that our teachers have access to such cool learning tools. If I was still teaching I would love any of the three Mimio pieces we have. The Mimio pad allows you to basically take your computer and mouse with you anywhere in the room. You can also let your students use it at their desks. The bar allows students to go up to the board and interact with whatever you choose to project on the white board. Last, the capture set allows you to save anything you write or anything your students write on the board electronically. I have been so impressed with this company. I hope more and more teachers choose to check out this cool technology!

Mimio Training on Sept.8th

I am excited about training on the 8th. I have a lot of people signed up to attend. Mimio is a great way to make everyday lessons interactive.

What I learned in technology training this week.

I learned how to add a movie clip to my website. I was so proud of myself. :-) I also learned about Zamzar. Zamzar is a free online website that converts files. This is really helpful when you want to save a YouTube video.

Blogs can be fun.
